How to make Carne Mechada Shredded Beef
“Carne Mechada” means Shredded Beef in Spanish. It’s a typical Venezuelan dish, similar to the Cuban dish, Ropa Vieja.
Traditionally, carne mechada is made with a stringy cut like brisket or skirt, but with the help of my trusty pressure cooker, it’s made with chuck roast for a lower price 😉 Besides, I like the extra fat in chuck roast.
So if you’re making this recipe, be sure to have a pressure cooker on hand.
This dish goes great with cauliflower mash, steamed veggies, and spaghetti squash.
