NOTE: The post below was written a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away – back when i was on the Bone Broth/Paleo diet in 2015. And although the information is still valuable (most of it) this will soon be updated with a new post about how Dr. Gundry’s Plant Paradox book changed my health (for the better), and changed the way I look at and understand food. I had a lot more to learn, and I’ll share it with you soon. (2018)

(2015) The single most important factor that I had to learn about weight loss was that weight loss starts in your guts. If your guts are unhealthy, the rest of your body may be unhealthy.

My digestive system was in distress! All that sugar, high fructose corn syrup, dairy and grain products (like pasta, noodles, bread, flour, pastries, etc) were wreaking havoc on my system.

Dr. Kellyann Pettruci taught me that although the guts can take years of punishment, and be in really bad shape for just as long, they only take about 21 days to rebuild!

Basically, there are three factors if you’re overweight: 1) Your guts are probably inflamed from all that crap you’re eating. 2)All that sugar has created an army of bad bugs inside your guts. 3) The bad bugs outnumber the good bugs (the good bacteria that help you digest food) called probiotic bacteria.

So, to fix your guts, you need to do three things: 1) Cut out all the sugar, high fructose corn syrup, dairy and grains. This will starve out the bad bacteria and they’ll literally die. 2)You need collagen to repair the lining of your guts. 3) You need to eat good bugs – you need to eat probiotics at least once a day.

If you do those three things for 21 days, along with a healthy diet, BAM! You get a new set of guts. And with a new set of guts, and the right foods, I not only started feeling great, but lost a lot of weight.
